My name is Justin Murray, stage name Jus Murray. I am an African American identifying, 42 year old male who is 5’10” and 225lbs (average build). My origins include: Barbados, Puerto Rico and Europe and I am a New Jersey native. Professionally, I am a semi-truck driver, operating 18-wheelers with manual or automatic transmissions. Experientially, I have worked in hospitals, corporate offices, restaurants, warehousing and retail stores. Formerly, played football and ran track. I now coach my 8 year old daughter’s flag football team. I have been married for 13 years and my wife and I have 3 beautiful daughters ages 5-12. We are a blended family with adult daughters ages 21 & 22 from previous relationships, making me the very definition of a “Girl Dad”. Artistically, I write and record hip hop music. My acting experience began in 2010 with a plethora of small skits at my church. In 2014, I landed the lead role in a stage play titled “Married But Not Engaged”. I played character Cam Thomas, a small time attorney with a heart for his community. My character becomes a mentor for one of his young male clients, something his wife Veronica is not fond of, while later discovering that she is having an affair. Cam is also facing his own temptation via his new attractive legal assistant. This production was a huge success. We performed it 16 times after its original weekend debut. In 2016, we followed up with a sequel. That garnered enough buzz that we had a massive turnout with a 2-night performance. In 2018, I landed one of the lead roles for a stage play titled “1968”. This particular play highlighted all the ground breaking moments in American History that took place that year and how a middle class family from Chicago reacted to all these happenings. I played the role of Junior, the eldest son of the family. Black panther affiliated, he was a rebel against racism and police brutality. I dove a lot deeper to emulate this role, studying Huey Newton and Chicago slang. Most recently, I picked up a role in the stage play entitled “I Did It”. This murder mystery takes place in modern day Atlanta at an upscale hotel. I played the role of Ronnie, a bell hop from Baltimore, trying to turn things around from a troubled past. I’ve always been a movie and television buff, however, I never dreamt of being the man in front of the camera. Acting was a hidden talent turned passion of mine. It has been encouraging to receive such positive feedback and I look forward to embracing new roles and honing my talents.
